I moved to Los Angeles as a Freshman at Occidental College and fell in love with the community here. I have career Finance experience and applied experience in Compliance, Risk Management and Safety. My husband and I are longstanding members of the Wilshire Rotary Club and I have served the Club in multiple roles, including President. I have a high value on our connectedness as humans, as local and global communities; I am consistently committed to community service and have designed and completed service projects for Veterans, Schools and international projects including clean water, medical help and improving quality of life for people with disabilities. When I formed KPA General Contractors, it was with the intent to put people, team and purpose first and work for shared value and profits. Part of this value is ensuring we are faithful stewards and protectors of our clients’ assets. We have worked hard on our team approach and our certifications. I am an Army Veteran, personally active in the Veteran and Unhoused communities. Recruitment and support of Veteran businesses and staff is one of my high priorities as KPA Senior Management. The resilience, teamwork, timeliness, resource management and loyalty we developed in service to our country translates well into the work we do and a resulting positive customer experience. My “secret weapon” in project management is “creating the time...” the time up front for team training, preparation and safety, the time up front to develop and set clear expectations with my teams and my clients. Carving out this up-front time while not slowing project timelines is KPA magic and is a cornerstone of our KPA team success stories.

I am originally from Jamaica, gaining American citizenship as a teenager. I found my way to a comfortable life through professional tennis and I continue to support community tennis for children and teens. I am personally active in my church, in outreach to unhoused people and new immigrants in our community. Recruitment and support of new immigrant business and staff is one of my high priorities. I experientially understand scarce resources and find value and use for items others may cast off. As a hobby craftsman and interior design artist, I love finding a second life for surplus furniture, products and cast-off materials. This makes me perfect for the role of logistics and surplus reuse management at KPA.

I have 33 years of applied construction bookkeeping experience. I manage construction payroll, financial reporting, and accounting for KPA. This includes job costing, budgets, payroll reports, within a specialized, project-centric financials framework. I am nimble with scope changes, comfortably handling client change orders, invoicing, and reporting. Ensuring compliance with tax and legal obligations is a primary work value. The KPA team is a breath of fresh air in my years of construction experience. I am family-oriented, with high personal value based on time with my husband, kids and grans. My highest enjoyment is to curate and host family trips, events, and experiences. KPA fosters a culture of personal respect and inclusion, creating a preciousness and a work/life balance within our team that I treasure.
